We drove out to the town of Talkeetna and caught a small plane that took us out into Denali for some “flight seeing”.
Landing on top of a glacier–and the time we spent up there–was an amazing experience, but I have to say that the trip there and back was just as spectacular. Instead of flying over the mountains, we went through them. Often there were rocky cliffsides barely 200 yards off the wingtip as we skimmed through the mountains. The scenery was spectacular, not the least of which were the giant swaths of open space, carved out by the passage of glaciers. Un-frikken-believable!
Afterwards we continued exploring and clowning around.
