Below is how your personal data will be used.
About this website:
This website is the official homepage for the writer known as Mitty Walters (that’s me!). Legally, the this site—and all of my writing—is owned by MoBetter Productions Inc.
My website address is: https://mitty-walters.com
About MoBetter Productions Inc:
MoBetter Productions Inc is an S-Corp, registered in the state of Florida (USA). MoBetter is my company, I own it. The primary function of the company is to collect income for my day job, that of freelance graphic/web production. In the event my writing ever takes off, I am set up so that any income will flow through the business.
I tell you all this to make it very clear that this is a tiny, one man operation. MoBetter is not some giant publisher, it’s just me. I take privacy seriously and will never use your personal information in a nefarious way.
What personal data I collect and why I collect it:
When you submit a form I collect your name and your email address so that I can correspond with you.
When you subscribe to my newsletter I collect your first name, your last name, and your email address so that I can correspond with you.
Your personal data will not only be stored in the website’s database but also in MailChimp, the application I will use to send my newsletters.
2. Google Analytics
In order to be compliant with the new regulation Google included a data processing amendment. The data I collect will be processed anonymously and “Data sharing” is disabled. I don’t use other Google services in combination with Google Analytics cookies.
The reason I use Google Analytics is because there are so many damn devices these days. Without the help of Analytics, it becomes near impossible to keep my site optimized and running smooth, no matter which device/browser is being used.
I use MailChimp for my newsletters.
MailChimp is one of the best marketing automation platforms and is GDPR compliant. They have a campaign builder that makes it easy to create email templates.
In MailChimp I store your name and email address. With your permission, I may send you emails about my writing and other updates.
When visitors leave comments on the site I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, it will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, the site will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
I have also now added yet another cookie to ask for your consent for the other cookies. That one will last for a month a month.
From time to time I may offer surveys for you to fill out. Some of those surveys may indeed ask for intrusive information, such as your age, gender, and/or race. If I ask, it’s because I have a reason. For instance, if the survey is related to an All-Call for beta readers, it may be important to me to understand your background so that I could direct certain passages your way to gain incite on others in your group may react to the same passage.
The surveys on my site are completely optional. If you choose to fill one out, your responses will be stored on my site and/or MailChimp.
7. Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

When you purchase a product on mitty-walters.com, your personal data is shared with PayPal if you pay via Credit Card.
How long I retain your data:

For users that register on my website (if any), I also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). The website administrators (me!) can also see and edit that information.
